Dear St. Alphonsus Families,
We hope you are staying warm this week as another round of frigid temps starts us off this week! Just a few reminders for you for this week:
First, this is the last week to sign up for the Father/Daughter Dance! This is an event you don't want to miss, and all father figures are welcome. Check out all the details below in the Home & School section and get those sign-ups turned in! You must register by Friday, February 21.
Speaking of Friday, February 21, it's Cougar Carnival Week! We are so excited for this event. Check out all of the details below--Mrs. Schermetzler is particularly excited about being duct taped to the wall (Ms. Parey & Mrs. Bruhn really wonder why, but hey, let her have her fun, hahaha) so be sure to get some extra tickets for that! Cougar Carnival is a wonderful, family-friendly event and we are so thankful for the committee's hard work to bring this event to fruition. We can't wait to see you all there!
There's lots of other fun stuff to read about this week as well. Be sure to check out the section on the Parish Auction, as Mrs. Schermetzler and Mrs. Eisold are starting to ramp up their preparations for this fun event that benefits both the school and the parish!
Have a great week and stay warm!
Best regards,
Ms. Parey, Principal
Mrs. Schermetzler & Mrs. Bruhn, Leadership Team

The St. Alphonsus Food Pantry Service Project is Going Great!
With Valentine's Day in February, we are showing our community our love and care through this project to benefit the St. Alphonsus Food Pantry.
This project will consist of collecting food items to stock the pantry, and will also give students a chance to take a tour of the food pantry and have a Q&A session with the pantry's regularly staffed volunteers. All students will have a tour of the Food Pantry on either Tuesday, February 17 or Wednesday, February 18.
The Service Project Leadership Team has decided that we will donate "meal kits" to the pantry so that those who come to the pantry can get a full meal kit and not just random items that could make up a meal.
Each week we will feature a new meal kit and the items needed. Each grade will be responsible for donating an assigned item so that we can ensure full meal kits.
This week we are putting together BREAKFAST MEAL KITS. Here are the classroom assignments:
Grades 3K, 6, & 8: Cereal
Grades 4K, 1, & 7: Oatmeal, hot cereal, syrup
Grades 5K, 2, & 3: Muffin packs, donuts, granola bars, rice krispies
Grades 4 & 5: Pancake mix (the "add water only" kind), syrup
Next week we will be putting together MEAT & VEGGIE MEAL KITS!

Vacation Bible Camp Survey
Last summer, we had an awesome time with our Totus Tuus Vacation Bible Camp. Due to some changes in staff at the Archdiocese, we are not able to do Totus Tuus ths year. We do however, want to have a Camp this summer (again, in conjunction with St. Martin of Tours Parish). We would like to offer this half day camp (different from last year) at a time of day that is best for as many families as possible. If you are interested in sending your child(ren) to a totally Catholic, totally fun Vacation Bible Camp the week of July 13, 2025, please take a moment to fill out this survey.

Parish Mission is coming up on March 2, 3, & 4!
This year's parish mission is all about the source of all authentic, lasting hope: Jesus. And our speaker is a great man by the name of Rich Harter. And the best news is that we are offering child care for those that need it!
We do need a general idea of how many kids are coming so we can plan accordingly. If you know you will be making use of child care for the Parish Mission, please sign up at this link.
You can learn more about the Parish Mission via the flyer below!
