Testing for COVID-19 is rapidly evolving and with so many tests flooding the market we are committed to finding the best tests available. While the nasopharyngeal swab is one method of testing for a current infection (usually in symptomatic patients), supply is limited and the test is cumbersome. For asymptomatic patients, we now have a blood test with markers that can point to a recent or past exposure, indicating possible immunity.
No test is perfect, but the current antibody testing has a specificity of 97.5% and a sensitivity of 95.6%, which we are pleased with. It takes just a few days for results to be emailed to you.
