Greetings, Dear Jennifer!
It's almost the equinox! (Happy Autumn to our friends in the southern hemisphere)...
Though March 20th is the calendar marking of the new season, signs of what will be spring in TEALarbor stories' part of the world are already visible and audible!
The other night walking home, I heard the first small chorus of frogs singing in the protected wetland. Daffodils and crocuses are in bloom across the island. Robins, juncos, and chickadees seem especially earnest in their paired foraging and flitting. And a few species of trees' dark, cold buds are just beginning to soften and open.
These natural transitions, gradual but sure, can mirror hope for us: hope that we have the steadfastness to do our part for the world, hope that compassion and peace will predominate, hope that those who are suffering across this globe (human and more-than-human) will be relieved of their distress. This is not an easy hope; it requires - for me, anyway - a continual replenishment of the inner well of resilience. But it is a real hope, grounded in faith and our own everyday efforts to heal what is fractured, to hold what is tender, to sit with uncertainty until the path becomes clearer.
So let's celebrate and put into deeper practice our shared hopes for unity, beauty, and love by allowing the buds of our deepest longings to ripen. If you'd like to do so in community with others, please consider joining the WE cohort in June.

May this new season offer you the blessings of open-heartedness and steadfast renewal.
Blessings,
Jennifer Wilhoit
