Oklahoma Advocacy Day Shines a Spotlight on Key Issues | AAHOA was proud to participate in a successful Advocacy Day at the Oklahoma Capitol, engaging directly with lawmakers on key issues impacting the hospitality industry. From discussions on credit card swipe fees, tourism development, and short-term rental policies to coalition efforts on SQ 832, a ballot measure to raise the state's minimum wage, this was a valuable opportunity to ensure hotel owners' voices are heard early in the legislative process.

AAHOA Members On the Ground in Arkansas | AAHOA Members were on the ground in Arkansas for a productive legislative day with the Arkansas Hospitality Association, where they engaged directly with policymakers – including Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders – on the issues that matter most to hotel owners. Through strategic meetings with advocacy leaders, AAHOA advanced key priorities, including short-term rental policy, rising insurance costs, and ongoing collaboration on human trafficking awareness. U.S. RevPAR +8.5% y/y Last Week; Tail-End of Easter Holiday Shift Drove Strong Results
As Truist Securities wrote, "Overall, U.S. RevPAR was +8.5% y/y for the week ending 4/25/2026, per STR/CoStar, below the prior week's result of +14.6% y/y but above the 10-week average of +4.8% y/y. Last week's results were unsurprisingly strong and reflect the tail-end of the Easter holiday timing shift from April 20th last year to April 5th this year. Early week RevPAR was strongest (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday up 31.8%, 28.4%, 19.2% y/y, respectively) and results decelerated as the week progressed. As with any week positively affected by a holiday shift, Group RevPAR results were abnormally strong, up 28.9% y/y. Upscale RevPAR: +8.9% y/y; Upper Midscale RevPAR: +7.7% y/y."
