NPDCSNJ Trustee Honored For

Board Leadership by NJBIZ

Michael Willmann Recognized as One of 33 Honorees

Statewide in Inaugural Board Leadership Awards Program

HADDONFIELD, NJ (August 10, 2026)—NPDCSNJ trustee and former Board chair Michael Willmann has been recognized as one of 33 honorees statewide in the inaugural NJBIZ Board Leadership Awards program.

NJBIZ launched this program to “recognize outstanding board members whose governance, expertise and commitment have made a meaningful impact on their organizations and communities. Honorees were selected based on their strategic impact, commitment, leadership and additional contributions to their boards.”

“So many professionals across New Jersey give their time and energy to organizations they care deeply about,” NJBIZ Associate Publisher and General Manager AnnMarie Karczmit says. “This new awards program allows for a more widespread way to share appreciation for these individuals.”

Willmann was cited for his “two decades guiding the work” of NPDCSNJ where he serves as trustee, chair of the NPO Summit, and chair of the governance committee. A board member since the organization’s inception, Willmann previously served as chair from 2008 to 2014 and as president in 2019 and 2020.

In presenting the award, Karczmit said “Under his direction, the organization has convened more than 1,240 regional nonprofit and community leaders, along with hundreds of foundations, schools, and businesses through a series of region-wide summits and county-based mini-summits. That work produced a regional database of nonprofit organizations and an 18-month needs assessment initiative examining issues transportation to literacy, with the aim of making South Jersey the most nonprofit-friendly region in the country by 2030.”

Willmann is a past recipient of the New Jersey Governor’s Volunteerism Award, co-chair of the Haddonfield Outdoor Sculpture Trust and a member of the Camden County Workforce Development Board, where he chairs the Pathways to Literacy Committee.

Willmann can be reached at 856-278-3333 (m) or at michaelwillmann@wmsh.com.
