Co-ops and Condos United of NY

On Thursday, February 26  Co-ops and Condos United of NY hosted its first advisory board meeting, bringing together representatives from more than 100,000 units of housing. This is the beginning of a collaborative effort to strengthen advocacy, improve communication, and protect the interests of co-op and condo homeowners across New York.

Our mission is simple:

We advance the best interests of co-op and condo homeowners and advocate for legislation that promotes common-sense, affordability, self-governance, and stability.

We protect co-ops from harmful legislation, unfunded mandates, and regulatory pressures that threaten our quality of life.

We partner with elected officials in Washington, Albany, and at City Hall to provide clear legislative proposals, oppose damaging bills, and fight for policies that recognize co-ops and condos as owner-occupied homes — not rental properties.

We work for you. Together, our voices are stronger.

We are urging elected officials to support J-51 expansion reform. This tax abatement program is critical in allowing many of our buildings to make capital improvements while remaining financial stable.

Please use the template and resources provided on our website linked here to contact your representatives and encourage your boards and residents to do the same.

Collective action will amplify our voice.
