It feels like June and July only lasted for 4 seconds and now, there are only 5 months left of 2021. While 2021 is halfway over and we are 1 1/2 years into COVID, there is still so much uncertainty around the re-opening of the economy. Many firms are revisiting their plans to go back into the office after Labor Day Weekend and investors are still hesitant to attend in-person meetings.

We're honored to be invited by Jim Bethea, CIO of the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, to partake in their annual investment committee retreat to share industry insights on DEI initiatives. City of San José hiring Senior Retirement Investment Officer, Office of Retirement Services in San Jose, California. The Office of Retirement Services (ORS) oversees the investment of assets and administers the benefits of the two Defined Benefit Retirement Plans for City of San Jose employees. The assets of the two plans total over $6 billion. As of June 30, 2020, there were over 6,800 retirees and beneficiaries, and nearly 7,400 active, inactive and deferred vested member in the two retirement plans. Each of the retirement plans has a Board of Administration that has fiduciary responsibility over their respective retirement plan. ORS staff has accountability to them as well as City Administration.
