9 MILLION MEALS WALK for MY BROTHER'S TABLE, Sunday, October 19 starts HERE at First Church and continues along King's Beach.

We have a First Church Swampscott team so sign up

to walk or to donate at: mybrotherstable.org/walk.

Registration at 1:30; start time 2:00.

Founded in Lynn in 1982, MBT is the largest soup kitchen on the North Shore. MBT provides free meals seven days a week as well as other services. Our church has supported MBT since the beginning with dollars and volunteers.

Are you interested in volunteering for one day or more? Find opportunities on the website.

"Writing Your Own Obituary - a 2-part workshop series, October 19th and 26th, at 11:30, just after worship. Led by Rev. Holly. Get your coffee and a munchie and join us for a lively exploration of this seemingly daunting task.

How do you want to be remembered? What might you say better than anyone else about your life and all that you did and saw? What if you had the last word?  You can! Put in your own words who you are and while you are at it, examine what this might tell you about your values and goals for the years to come.

Questions: reach out to Rev. Holly at hsbrauner@gmail.com.

Sandwiches for Capuchin Mobile Ministry, Thursday October 2, 9-11 AM.

If you can help, let us know.

Thanks,

Jim/Sharon Scofield

We would like to thank all those who sent prayers, cards, flowers, texts and support during my time in hospital and afterwards. Our church family have been so supportive and caring, and reminds us that this is very important in a return to health. We are very fortunate and thankful to be part of a caring congregation. Lorraine and Gordon Angel

Sunday School News:

Last week we did the story of The Ark and the Temple, followed this week by The Story of David. When I asked the children what part of the story they liked best they all had different answers; "The part where David battles Goliath" "The part where David is a shepherd and becomes king" "The part where David plays his harp for the King (Saul)."

We found out that David was not a perfect man or king and we all raised our hands to say we are not perfect either, but were reminded that God loves us and we can help each other with kindness.

Coffee and Conversations is BACK on all Sunday's, except Communion Sundays. We look forward to seeing NEW and familiar faces. Meeting at 9:10 am in the library. C&C is a time to connect with others in the church, and preview and unpack the scripture reading of the day.

SAVE THE DATE!!!
