Hello fellow Rotarians!
I’m so excited that we’ll be able to meet in person at the Pavilion June 30th for our installation.
Please see instructions on ordering lunch from Little Lois if you’d like, or bring you own. I’d suggest bringing a lawn chair if you’re more comfortable spreading out.
Per Chuck, ringing the bell is $20 each ring. Payment is by check to Salem Rotary Foundation, credit card to Salem Rotary Foundation or cash. We will not take credit cards at the in person meetings for the time being.
Take care, see you soon!

Oxygen Equipment to Nepal - At our May 26 meeting, Howard Baumann informed that we donated $1,500, the last of our international budget for this year, to help with the Covid-19 crisis in Nepal. On June 7, the Katmandu RC Club sent a letter and photos, thanking RCS and partner Rotary clubs for their support:.
Great accomplishment by our club members and District Clubs and friends! $10,000 received to purchase life saving O2 concentrators!
Yesterday we received 50 sets of O2 concentrators from China. Our club handled the customs clearance and distribution to the designated entities. Some have been given and a few is yet to be distributed. Similarly, we are getting 65 sets of concentrators from Taiwan in a day or 2, which will also be distributed by us. On the 3rd round we will be having about 50 O2 cylinders from the courtesy of PP Rajendra Dahal. The fourth lot will be concentrators probably in 2 weeks, working with Denmark Rotary Club. In between we will be getting 3-5 more concentrators and 50 O2 cylinders from other clubs. We will let you know about the progress. For now we are happy that we could start Covid response program.
Yours, Bishnu, Kathmandu Nepal RC

Kenya Student Project - In 2019 and 2020, RCS has sponsored 6 of the 54 high school students enrolled in Seaside’s Kenya Scholarship Project. Below is a thank you letter from a student and a representative report card.
Dear Sir/Madam:
First I would like to thank for the sponsorship through the organization. My dream has come true. While in school I was happy to remain in class due to payment of my school fees and not been sent home because I couldn't pay the fees. This gave me time to study for exams. During the COVID -10 period, more teachers were added that helped us complete all the subjects with time. More dormitories and classrooms were also constructed to practice social distancing. I want to sincerely thank the organization for everything they have done for me. I am very much happy and grateful. Yours sincerely, Hosa.
