View the Future Welcomes New Executive Director
June 26, 2024

"View the Future has hired Gretchen Dubie as its new Executive Director, the organization’s first paid employee. Gretchen brings a wealth of experience and passion to our mission of conserving and stewarding lands for scenic views, wildlife habitat, environmental health, cultural preservation, and recreation in the Yachats area.

A resident of Yachats, Gretchen joins View the Future with 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector. From 2009 to 2021, she served as the Executive Director of the Oregon Supported Living Program in Eugene, Oregon, where she led a large non-profit agency supporting adults with developmental disabilities. During her tenure, she significantly advanced the organization’s funding stream and sustainability through capital projects, donations, grants, and fundraising activities, increasing reserves from $50,000 to $2.1 million. Gretchen played a crucial role in board development, donor cultivation, strategic planning, community outreach, collaborations, and legislative activities.

View the Future Board Co-Chair Joanne Kittel had this to say “We are excited to welcome Gretchen to our organization. Her proven track record in non-profit leadership and passion for conservation make her the ideal person to lead View the Future into its next chapter.” Co-Chair John Theilacker added that “VtF’s hiring of Gretchen reflects our progress in establishing View the Future as the prominent land conservation organization serving the greater Yachats region and solidifies our commitment to local mission-driven impact within the community.”
