What a year the last month has been! What a decade, this 2020! You’ll want to be part of the renewal and refreshment this month’s call offers!
Be sure to preregister if you haven’t been on a ONE WILPF Call before.
Are you in shape for the next push?
Many of us are stretched to the breaking point. While the COVID numbers rise, we’re worried about our health, the economy, and the well-being of our loved ones. We’re weary from the work to overcome voter suppression and to support our chosen campaigns. In the face of endless Oval Office threats and tantrums, Election Day — or month! — was an act of determination and courage. We all deserve to take a little time out!
Of course, we’re celebrating the counting of all votes, but we’re still bracing for what happens next. We all thank and acknowledge the many voters, especially people of color — Blacks, Latinxes, and others — who made the difference in many contests. But we know we have more to do. How do we sustain ourselves, so we can continue the efforts still needed to push forward progressive change?
Giving Ourselves a Break with Music and Guidance
This Thursday’s call starts and ends with some songs by very musical activists. In between, take the opportunity to unwind!
Learn how to be effective, without getting worn out! Hear ways to care for yourself. You might want to call in to get supportive ideas on your personal challenges. Sisterhood helps. Remembering to breathe helps. And there’s more.
Judith Pedersen-Benn will act as our featured guide on Thursday’s call. She‘s a counselor, practicing in Chattanooga, Tennessee -- and a WILPF member. With her years of experience, she’ll help us unload and unpack our fears and worries. Together we’ll consider how we can support one another, while taking time for ourselves.
