Mission-Related Investments:

Is there a place for them in progressive philanthropy?

August 28th, 16:00 - 17:30 UTC

In this session, we will discuss mission-related investments. Hearing from the experiences of two EDGE Global Engagement Lab members, this seminar proposes to engage in a conversation about the value, if any, of mission-related investments and where they can fit in a progressive approach to philanthropy.

This session will have two presentations. Mariana Diaz from The Colorado Trust will examine how their staff is attempting to mobilise more of the Foundation’s resources towards its objectives. Key points will include a non-intentional approach to MRIs, and the process of funder organizing — specifically engaging boards of directors.

Jo Anderson-Figueroa from The People’s Support Foundation will look at learnings from making MRI’s and through a case study, ask whether MRI’s can be a tool for positive outcomes within a progressive approach to philanthropy.

We encourage you to bring your experiences, questions and concerns and look forward to discussing with you!
