This week's recipe is simple but an interesting way to enjoy avocados. The photo tip is about shutter speed. Last Saturday the Literacy Volunteers of the NRV held their annual fund raiser and race. You can go to their website for more information. They have all the photos I took (I did not run the race). The tarantula pictured was one of the magical creatures available to chat with during the event.

Shutter priority

Sports photographers usually are trying to freeze the action with a fast shutter speed. Some of today's cameras have 1/8000 of a second shutter speed. That speed is not needed for most human sports. When the gun sounded last Saturday at the Literacy Volunteers of the NRV annual TriWizard Potter in the Park Race and fund raiser I used 1/800 of a second shutter speed. I set a high ISO and the camera at Shutter Priority so every shot was at 1/800 and the camera set the aperture. If you have questions about photography contact me; I am happy to help you get better photographs.

If you would like to help those in Hawaii who have lost so much just click below. I will leave this up for another week. If your Non-profit has an event coming up and would like to be featured in these emails, let me know.
