We have candidates! Will you join them?
Apply for the WILPF US National Board!
Deadlines extended:
Nomination Deadline: Sunday, October 10, 2021
Application Deadline: Friday, October 15, 2021
The Triennial Congress was exciting and inspiring! We learned about a wide variety of issues and struggles that WILPF members and other activists are involved in. For the future, Board members will help determine the direction and future of WILPF US, along with our issue committees, branches, and members.
Many members who participated in the Congress have been inspired to do more in their branches and communities. At the national level, more participation is needed, too.
Are you ready to take your leadership skills to the next level? Run for the WILPF US national Board this fall! Two members have already applied to run for the Board:
- Dianne Blaise for Secretary
- Phillip Cole for At-large Member of the Board
Information about these two candidates (and others, as they apply) is being added to the new candidates information webpage (coming soon).
Board members determine the direction and work of WILPF US in multiple ways:
- Make policy decisions and take actions for program activities and the health of WILPF
- Participate in WILPF US deliberations on procedures, budget, and other issues
- Help shape and develop WILPF at the national level
- Develop respectful working relationships with sister board members
Board membership comes with many benefits:
- Leadership growth: Whether fairly new to leadership or or with long-time experience, board members develop new skills and enjoy the stretch of spreading leadership wings.
- Personal growth: Enjoy increasing confidence. As your abilities grow, so do you!
- Mentorship and guidance: Board members are not alone! Former board members have agreed to advise new board members as desired.
- Enjoy working relationships with other intelligent, energetic, and talented women like yourself.
- Be a part of change! WILPF needs a full board as we navigate these historic times. Our unique outlook links militarization and war to corporate greed and patriarchy.
You can nominate a qualified candidate, helping them to realize that they could fill such a leadership role! Submit the nomination form by the deadline: Sunday, October 10, 2021.
