Civic Responsibility - Election Season at St. Philip's

During election season, St. Philip's was buzzing with activities designed to inspire civic engagement and deepen students' understanding of leadership and social justice.

Students took part in researching and reporting on various political candidates, learning about their platforms and the issues impacting communities. The Student Government Association set up an informational table, providing materials on the importance of voting and key topics relevant to this election. Meanwhile, Student Council organized mock elections to give students hands-on experience with the voting process. Teachers also found unique and creative ways to incorporate lessons on civic responsibility into their classes, making sure that students understood how individual actions contribute to the greater good.

Even Early Childhood students participated in the spirit of the season by voting for animal characters that displayed strong leadership qualities, introducing them to the values of integrity, empathy, and responsibility.

These activities are part of St. Philip's commitment to inspiring future leaders and equipping them with a foundational understanding that the community and the world need their contributions.

WIDWID Blog - Then, Now and Later

If you had the opportunity to select a commemorative candy to represent Thanksgiving, what would it be?

During the homily in chapel, we pondered this question with our students. We came up with two candy titles: Then, Now and Later.

On behalf of our students, parents, faculty, staff, youth, and the senior citizens we serve, I extend to you, gratefulness for the “candy.” We thank you for your blessings to St. Philip’s Then, as well as the blessings Now and Later.
