Good Morning and Happy Last Day of Classes!

We are writing this morning with some quick updates on our plans for the 2021-22 Academic Year as they relate to housing. We are looking forward to having our residential communities reflect the University’s goal of ‘a more normal and vibrant campus life’.
Reminder of Key Dates

  • May 26: Selection Times and Housing Configurations Available
  • May 31: Request for Disability-Related Accommodations Due
  • June 4: Gender Neutral and Substance Free Requests Due
  • June 11: Live Room Availability List Published

Housing selection will take place according to the dates below:

  • June 14: Rising Senior (6+ Housing Credits) Selection
  • June 15: Rising Junior (4+ Housing Credits) Selection
  • June 16-17: Rising Sophomore (2+ Housing Credits) Selection
  • The University, including our office, will be closed on June 18 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
Campus Occupancy

For the 2021-22 Academic Year, we anticipate the majority of our communities will be occupied at their normal capacity. In terms of continuing student housing, the only changes will be in Martin Hall. Since Efird and Huffman Halls will be used to house incoming students, we will be using Martin Hall as a space to allow students to select from a blend of double and modified single rooms. Students will be able to select an individual bedroom here, without the need to fill the entire suite.

Additionally, we do plan to continue offering University-sponsored housing at both Deacon Station and Crowne Oaks, Park, and Polo. For the 2021-22 Academic Year, these will all function under the University Housing and Dining Agreements.

As we finalize configurations and are able to update our floor plans, we will communicate that information out to students by Wednesday, May 26.
Move-In

We anticipate a multi-day move-in process for the 2021-22 Academic Year, with continuing student move-in taking place in the August 20-22 timeframe. Continuing students will be able to select their move-in appointments this summer.
We look forward to welcoming you back to campus in the fall and wish you a safe and enjoyable summer. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact us at housing@wfu.edu or 336-758-5185.
