An overwhelming share of Black Americans think the U.S. economic system is stacked against them and a slim majority believe the problem of racism will worsen during their lives, according to a Washington Post-Ipsos poll that explored the attitudes of the country’s second-largest minority group.
The poll finds that Black adults worry they are marginalized and under threat by acts of hate and discrimination in their day-to-day lives. Most also say it is more dangerous to be a Black teenager now than when they were teens.

....Subject: Legends in Inner-Attainment
Greetings Family,
Today's offering is "Legends in Inner-attainment" an H3O Art of Life Show Featuring: Ancestors Kelan Phil Cohran and Oscar Brown, Jr.. Although "Brother Phil" acknowledged Oscar Brown Jr. as "one of the Progenitors of African Culture in this country,"
It is also true that "It takes one to know one" because the same legacy applies to Kelan Phil Cohran.
It is interesting that the "Juneteenth" celebration competes, for our attention, with "Father's Day"- especially since there are so many sides to the "Juneteenth" story. Our sides are told by our "Intellectual Warriors" such as Ancestor Dr. Lerone Bennett, Jr. in "Forced Into Glory" as well as by Kiarri T.-H.Cheatwood in its forerunner, "To Save the Blood of Black Babies," and "The Race: Matters Concerning Pan Afrikan History, Culture, and Genocide."
Cheatwood coined a term, "the Frederick Douglass syndrome," to describe the conundrum in which Ancestor Douglass found himself at the advent of "Juneteenth." He knew - but could not tell our people - that they had not been freed [by the Emancipation Proclamation], because they were too busy celebrating their so-called "freedom."
It is an old adage that "If you don't know what you're doing, you'd better ask somebody." We are recommending these resources (to paraphrase Ancestor Biggie Smalls)," "so if you don't know, now you [can]..."
You are invited to view the "Legends in Inner-Attainment" interview on Friday, June 16th@ 8:30 PM & Sunday, June 18th @ 3:30 PM on CANTV, Channel 19. The H3O Art of Life Show may also be viewed at any time by clicking on the link below:

Gov. JB Pritzker signed legislation Monday that seeks to protect public and school libraries from pressure to ban, remove or restrict access to books based on “partisan or doctrinal disapproval.”
Speaking at the Harold Washington Library Center in downtown Chicago, Pritzker said there were 67 attempts in 2022 to have various books removed from library shelves in Illinois, including books about LGBTQ-plus youths, the Black experience and racism.
“The argument for banning books always begins with the claim that it's about protecting the children, and yes, of course, we all want to protect our children so they're reading age-appropriate material,” he said.
“But banning books from libraries isn't about that at all. Book bans are about censorship, marginalizing people, marginalizing ideas and facts. Regimes ban books, not democracies.”
House Bill 2789 declares it to be the policy of Illinois to “encourage and protect the freedom of libraries and library systems to acquire materials without external limitation and to be protected against attempts to ban, remove, or otherwise restrict access to books or other materials.”

The country’s first competitive Black cyclist may be one step closer to receiving a posthumous honor.
South Side Rep. Jonathan Jackson and co-sponsors Reps. Robin Kelly and Danny K. Davis hope to shore up more bipartisan support for the ‘‘Marshall ‘Major’ Taylor Congressional Gold Medal Act,’’ a move to honor the famed athlete 91 years after his death.
The representatives were scheduled to introduce the bill into the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday.
The congressional medal has honored “actors, authors, entertainers, musicians, pioneers in aeronautics and space, explorers, lifesavers, notables in science and medicine, athletes, humanitarians, public servants and foreign recipients,” according to the U.S. House of Representatives website.
Its first honoree was President George Washington in 1776. The most recent were Emmett Till and Mamie-Till Mobley, who received the honor in the civil rights category in January.
