The St. Louis Catholic Church held its annual Community Festival for the Poor on Saturday, February 26. The annual event is held to raise funds to help the less fortunate in our community. Beatriz Gutierrez, who organizes the festival each year, said, “100% of all the monies raised are donated to the local Miami-Dade charities that help those in need.”
Over 10 local charities benefitted from the monies raised by the Festival for the Poor; and, A Safe Haven for Newborns, once again, was one of the local charities that received a portion of the monies raised. “Thank you Beatriz for your dedication and giving from your heart in making this event a success in bringing the community together and the raising of funds for those in need and for your compassion for those less fortunate,” said Nick Silverio, Founder of A Safe Haven for Newborns.
