Sharing the love and hope of Christ while empowering our neighbors with education, employment, and crisis support.

Dear Friends of The CARE Center,

As we wrap up June, we’re reflecting on a month filled with growth, gratitude, and the power of community. It’s been a summer of great impact so far, and we couldn’t have done it without you!

Our summer camps kicked off the month with joy, creativity, and new connections. Campers spent their days exploring, learning, and making memories, and we’re so thankful to everyone who helped create such a safe and enriching environment. We also celebrated Employee Appreciation Week and took time to recognize the incredible team members working behind the scenes in our ministries and programs. Their dedication and heart help drive our mission forward every single day.

This month, we also partnered with the New Hope Children's Clinic and Graces of Gurley to host our first Southeast Community Connections meeting at The CARE Center's Ministry Building! Through these quarterly meetings, we hope to create a space that will bring together local church and business partners, community leaders, and neighbors to share resources, build relationships, and collaborate on ways to better support and strengthen Southeast Madison County.

Looking ahead, July is full of opportunities to continue serving our neighbors and walking alongside families in Southeast Madison County. One upcoming event is the annual Back to School Bash on July 31, with celebrations happening at NHES, OCRS, and MCES. Our team will be on site to make sure students have the support they need to start the school year strong.

Note: Be on the lookout for the new Bags of Blessings Application next month for the upcoming school year! Families must fill out an application even if they have received Bags of Blessings in the past.

If you or someone you know is looking for a meaningful internship where they can make a real impact, we’d love to connect. We’re continuing to recruit Bachelor’s and Master’s level interns involved in various areas of study. View more information below!

Thank you for being a constant source of support and encouragement. Your generosity, prayers, and belief in this mission allow us to keep showing up for our community day after day. Here’s to a month of new beginnings, deeper connections, and continued hope.

Blessings,

Andrea Bridges

Male Mentors Needed

We are seeking responsible male mentors for the school day and our after-school programs. These mentors are crucial in providing guidance and support to the youth in our community. Applicants must be available to meet with their assigned child at school at least once a week during the school day or our after-school program and pass a background check. If you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people, we encourage you to reach out and become a mentor.

If you're interested, please contact us: Call 256.723.2273 or email info@thecare-center.org.

Food Pantry Wish List

Our food pantry shelves are a little bare right now, so as you go grocery shopping, would you be willing to pick up some extra items for our Food Pantry? To make it more convenient for you, we have an Amazon Wish List where you can order items and have them shipped directly to our Business Office. All donations help ensure food stability for our neighbors during difficult times. Thank you for your support!

Meal Ministry Volunteers

“Do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” Is volunteering on your heart? We are currently seeking volunteers to help support our meal ministries!

If you're interested in getting involved, we want to hear from you!
