The crime rate in Las Vegas is considerably higher than the national average across all communities in America. The chance of becoming a victim of either a property or violent crime in Las Vegas is 1 in 30.

Rape, murder, non-negligent manslaughter, armed robbery, aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon are all considered violent offenses. The chances of becoming a victim of one of these crimes in Las Vegas is only one in 182.
