Pastor Appreciation Sunday
We are excited to celebrate our pastoral staff on Sunday, October 11 and want to let them know how much we appreciate their dedication and care. After each worship service, please join us for treats as we honor them. Cards can be dropped off in church office this week during office hours.

The UMM meeting is on Tuesday, October 20, at 9:00 a.m. It is a breakfast meeting at the Smith Mountain Lake Coffee House. They have graciously agreed to let us reserve the adjacent dining room. While the meeting will start at 9:00 a.m., you are encouraged to come a little earlier and place your breakfast order. Please feel free to invite your wife or friends.
We are fortunate to have John Naples as our guest speaker. John is the Development Directot for C.A.T.S. (Children’s Assistive Technology Service). C.A.T.S. started in 2014 as a local initiative and has grown into a statewide resource for families of children with physical, neurological, and developmental disabilities. In 2025 alone, 1,246 pieces of adaptive equipment were provided to 1,119 families across the Commonwealth!
Please plan to join us for good food, fellowship, and an opportunity to learn more about one of the charities we support through our annual giving.

Volunteers are needed to help register families at Lake Christian Ministries for a Child’s Christmas. Registration starts October 14 and continues every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday until the beginning of December. If you have time on those mornings from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., please help us make Christmas merry and bright for children who do not have much to celebrate at Christmas. Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board outside the ladies' restroom or call Judy Frailing at (703) 328-6035. | |

Beautiful on the Mountain is an inspiring true story written by Jeannie Light. It is in the Inspiration section of your church library. She came to Graves Mill (between here and Lynchburg) in 1977 and she was sure God had led her there. "What happens when a young woman finds herself thrown into a rural Virginia community and then is asked to reopen for them a long-disused local church?" Check it out and find out.

A black cart (about 24"x 30”) with wheels and a fold down handle is missing from the choir room. The cart is used to transport bell equipment. If you have seen a stray cart of that type around the church, please text Randi Paul at 610-360-0149. | |

Battery Recycling
The Green Team is happy to announce a new recycling program at church. Bring in all your used household alkaline and rechargeable batteries and old cell phones to be recycled at the Bedford County Recycling Center. We love keeping recyclable items out of the landfills! Thank you for all the recycling items you bring in, and for recycling at home!

Harvest Table: Closing for Season
The Harvest Table will be closing for the season. Sunday, October 11 will be the final Sunday to bring in your fall harvest. All produce and plants are welcome. Please take your empty boxes, bags and containers home with you. Thank you everyone for contributing and for taking home our garden gifts. We look forward to another bountiful year in 2027.
