On Saturday, November 15, SWWAP organized a sign brigade featuring the warning signs of fascism. A steady stream of motorists were reminded that that America is fast adopting many of the dangerous tenets which are familiar to authoritarian regimes and that is up to us to protect our fundamental rights and liberties.

We want to make these signs of fascism the focus of the display. (If you wish to display a sign you bring, we'll have designated places for that.) Please dress for the weather. This action will present the warning signs of fascism taking root in America. A few of those signs highlight:
Demonization of Enemies: The use of extreme nationalism and a division of society into "us vs. them," often scapegoating minorities, immigrants, or the press.
Disregard for Democratic Norms: Undermining trust in elections, the judiciary, and independent media, and a willingness to challenge or ignore court rulings and constitutional processes.
Condoning Violence: Implicitly or explicitly encouraging violence against political opponents.
You can stand or sit on a chair that you bring. We have the collection of signs, so bring a friend to help out. We'll also have nomination papers to sign for Judge Chris Taylor for Wisconsin Supreme Court.
