Atmos Energy Project Starting Soon

Atmos Energy will be working on a pipeline replacement project in Sunnyvale, with most of the work within the Stone Canyon neighborhood.

Construction for this section is scheduled to begin in the next two weeks and will continue through late December 2026, with restoration anticipated to begin in January 2027. The following roads will likely be affected by construction:

·     Calais Court

·     Arroyo Court

·     Stone Canyon Drive

·     Boulder Lane

·     San Gabriel Way

·     Ranchero Drive

Residents in and around the project area may notice construction activity, including equipment, vehicles and temporary traffic impacts as the work progresses. All work associated with this project is taking place within existing utility easements and rights-of-way.

The Town has been coordinating with Atmos Energy to stay informed about the project and help minimize disruptions to the surrounding community.

Residents with questions about the project or work affecting their property should contact Atmos Energy directly at 214-427-4000 or DallasCountyProjects@atmosenergy.com.

Understanding the Summer Lawn Watering Guidelines

The Town of Sunnyvale has updated its lawn watering guidelines to support the water conservation efforts of our wholesale water provider, North Texas Municipal Water District, and to further the goals of the Town's Water Conservation Plan.

The Town is moving to an address-based format to simplify compliance for all property owners. The watering schedule is as follows:

  • All residential addresses ending in an odd number – water on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • All residential addresses ending in an even number – water on Wednesdays and Sundays.
  • Commercial properties – water on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • No watering on Saturdays.
  • No watering on any day between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

This schedule complies with our water supplier’s conservation requirements and applicable state requirements. The format will also help Town staff identify and report patterns and trends if more stringent conservation measures are required in the future.

Rockin' with Red!

Red is a 1-year-old female rhodesian ridgeback.

If you walked by the shelter pool today, you probably saw Red completely dominating the vibe. Lounging poolside, soaking up the sunshine, and looking effortlessly cool, she knows she is "all that" and isn't afraid to show it!

Red has spent 300 days living in a shelter kennel. While she makes the absolute best of every day, it is clear to all of us who love her that she is dreaming of a true home. She is ready to trade shelter life for a forever family to protect, cherish and love unconditionally.

We are passionate about finding permanent homes for all the animals in the shelter. Come visit them at the Sunnyvale Animal Shelter, 371 Long Creek Road. Learn more by visiting our Petfinder page or calling 214-862-4525.
