What's happening this week:

I am guessing that if your kids have not already started school they will be some time next week. I wish you all good luck. That first week always seems to be the hardest.

Now that vacations are just about wrapped up and the day to day routine is back keep in mind that if you are in a pinch at the last minute, we have LOTS of items that can be prepared in no time!

As the school year starts and we get try to forget the carefree days of summer there is one looming thing on the horizon every day, DINNER. Those first few weeks back are always tough to make any plans with all the new teachers and classes. Who knows how much homework your 3rd grader will have and how much time will be left to make a meal. Well, this week's first sale item is a great one to have in the fridge or freezer to be ready at a moment's notice. Our Lean Ground Chuck is of course always ground fresh every day (and more likely several times a day) to ensure you the freshest possible, however keep in mind that our ground chuck, and all the other ground beefs too, have no additives so you want to make sure that you use it or freeze it within a day of purchasing it. Ground beef is one of those meats that you don't want sitting around. Now, as far as what to do with your ground chuck? There are a million options to choose from and we could go over all of those but instead I have this link that has 85 different ideas.

Also this week we have our Homemade Crab Cakes and I just had these for dinner last night. I have to tell you that our crab cakes are the best crab cakes this side of Lake Erie!! Don't believe me, try them and let me know.

This week's first sale item is our Marinated Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts and this week we will have one of our newest flavors featured, the Orange Ginger. We cooked a few of these up the other day and it is a really amazing flavor that everyone will love!!

Next up this week was kind of an inside joke here at Mike's. Brian, EVERYONE'S favorite, is a giant fan of the Herring in Cream Sauce so we decided for him that would be our sale item. If you come in to get some herring this week make sure to point it out to Brian that you are getting some. Since this is in his honor he would love it!!

I have a few absolute favorites in our deli and this week's sale item is at the top of that list! 2 of my favorite things are cheese and tomatoes and the Homemade Fresh Mozzarella & Tomato Basil Salad has both of those PLUS fresh basil and a nice basil infused olive oil. How can that not be great?
