Welcome To June

Hello Business YOU Community,

Thank you to everyone who has taken an interest in my “May Month of Me” and the adventures that I afforded myself through some deep work on what I needed to experience as I entered a new decade.

For those asking about my travels, they were AMAZING. I ventured to Iceland, then London, and Wales. Each offered a different experience, and if nothing else, I gained an appreciation for how beautiful our planet is, including many of the wonderful and welcoming people that inhabit it.

I learned a lot about myself on my break. Here are a few of my takeaways:

  1. I need the outdoors. Rain, shine, hail, or wind – get me outside. I knew this already, but this trip sure solidified the importance of nature for me.
  2. I struggle with the history of how we got here. London and Wales are full of beautiful buildings and historical traditions, but they are also full of unearned privilege, colonialism, tragedy, slavery, ownership of others, hate, and war. Maybe the rest of you know this already, but beyond diving into the history of Indigenous Peoples in Canada, I haven’t spent time learning or understanding these other truths. Why? Because they bother me deeply, and some things I just don’t want to know.
  3. I need very little to find joy. A bird, butterfly, flower, beautiful view, tea, or a homemade treat. Joy is everywhere when you are open to it.
  4. I also need very little to be comfortable. Travel lightly, dress comfortably, and let go of the need to be “selfie and photo ready.”
  5. Last, home is still where the heart is. Coming back to people, pets, and plants that love you and need you, to work that fulfills you, and to routines that serve you, is the biggest blessing. Vacation is not about escaping life; it’s about finding another perspective by which to appreciate it.

I hope you enjoy some of my pics, and the lessons I am reflecting on in this new chapter. And don’t worry, I will get back to “all business” soon.

Summary

Coaching Prompt

1. Meaningless Spending is Meaningless Living

Spend with intention — in life and in business.

What are you spending money on that no longer holds value for your business or clients?

2. Celebrate Important Life Events

Milestones are moments to pause, reflect, and connect.

How does your business acknowledge major milestones — for you, your team, or your clients?

3. Live Within Your Means

Financial security matters more than material status.

Are you budgeting realistically, or just optimistically? What needs to change?

4. See Your Body for What It Is

Your body is your tool, not your identity.

How can you lead more sustainably by taking care of your physical and mental well-being?

5. Just Try It

Growth requires trying something new.

What’s one new habit, idea, or service you could test in Q3?

6. The Big O: Organization

Systems are what keep chaos at bay.

What system or process is slowing you down, and what can be reworked this month?

7. Enjoy Every Stage

Every chapter of life (and business) has value.

What’s one thing you can only do in this stage of your business? How are you leaning into it?

8. Love Yourself Like Your Dog Does

Unconditional love and loyalty start with you.

Are you showing yourself the same grace, kindness, and encouragement you offer others?

9. Talk About Wealth

Wealth is more than money — it’s freedom and impact.

What values do your business financials reflect? Are you building wealth or just revenue?

10. Go Green

Sustainability is both a mindset and a responsibility.

How can your business better align with eco-conscious practices that reflect your values?
