The President's Education Awards Program was founded in 1983 on behalf of the President of the United States and the United States Secretary of Education. The purpose of the program is to recognize and honor U.S. students in elementary, middle, and high school. The program has provided individual recognition from the President of the United States and the Secretary of Education to those students whose outstanding efforts have enabled them to meet challenging standards of excellence. To receive the President's Award for Educational Excellence at Kenston High School, students must meet a minimum unweighted grade point average of 3.5 while committing to a minimum number of community service hours per grade level. (seniors-100, juniors-75, sophomores-50, freshman-25)
Each year thousands of students are deserving of this recognition in the United States. For the 2019-2020 school year, Kenston High School recognizes over 140 students in grades 9-12 below. The KHS staff and administration is proud of these students for making the commitment to academic excellence while serving others.
