Pastor Trudy's Message

Hiding from the presence of the Lord. There are many distractions in the story for this week...trees that hold forbidden fruit, a sly creature, and sudden awareness of exposure. We stop before we get to blaming and banning. I think it's so we can linger on Genesis 3:8, '[they] hid themselves from the presence of the Lord..'  Where does this impulse to hide our failures reside in our personal faith stories?

God who seeks and finds us, help us to know that You see and love us. We can bring every part of ourselves before You and know that You will guide our steps forward. In Jesus' name, Amen.

*We will do our best to respond to your questions in the enews, but can't promise that we will get to all of them. You can email Pastor Trudy if you haven't seen your question and would like an answer.

• Enlighten us so that we might follow your will and your ways, and forgive us when we stumble and go astray. Help us to return again and again to you.
• Bring healing and restoration to all the earth, and help us to be good stewards of all that you have made.
• Grant vision for the good of all people to those in positions of power.
• Draw near to all who call out to you and all who are in need of your comfort and care.
• Kindle in us curiosity to learn from others and kindle in us a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives and people.
• For all those who have gone before us, we pray. May their lives be a faithful example to us who seek to care for our neighbors and world.

These and all our prayers we lift up to you, O God. Amen.
