Hi Ace,

We have a few exciting updates at the ranch this month, and we can't wait to get you caught up about them!

Firstly, please be advised that due to anticipated higher summer temperatures, we will be temporarily adjusting our shipping schedule from May through September. During this period, we will have one designated shipping day per month, occurring on the third Tuesday of each month.

Regarding local deliveries, we will continue to offer complimentary delivery to Mesa and Garfield counties on orders of $250 or more. From June through September, deliveries within Mesa County will take place on Thursday afternoons, while Garfield County deliveries will be on Tuesday afternoons.

We appreciate your understanding as we take these measures to ensure the quality of your orders during the warmer months!

We're thrilled to welcome our new team members – a pair of energetic Border Collies! These intelligent and agile dogs are a popular choice for cattle ranching due to their exceptional herding instincts. Bred specifically for this purpose, Border Collies possess an innate ability to control and move livestock with focus and precision. Their remarkable intelligence allows them to learn commands quickly and adapt to various herding situations, making them invaluable partners in managing cattle. We are eager to see them put their natural talents to work! What would you name these two cuties? Leave a comment on our Instagram post with your name suggestions!

Mark your calendars for our farmers market appearances this season!

You can find us at the Fruita Farmers Market every Saturday morning from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, starting June 14th and running through August 23rd.

We'll also be at the Glenwood Springs Farmers Market every Tuesday evening from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, from June 17th to September 2nd.

And in Grand Junction, catch us every Thursday evening from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, beginning July 10th and continuing until September 25th.

We're looking forward to connecting with you at the markets, come out and see us!

The Real Burger of Earth Day promotion is a delightful initiative designed to encourage more sustainable food choices and celebrate our planet.

By featuring a burger made with locally sourced, environmentally conscious ingredients – or featuring ethically raised, grass-fed beef – the promotion aims to highlight the connection between what we eat and the health of the Earth.

The High Lonesome Ranch is partaking this year to raise awareness about the environmental impact of food production, support local ranchers and businesses committed to sustainability, and inspire consumers to make more mindful decisions that benefit both their well-being and the planet we share.

You can get involved too! Enter the Real Burger of Earth Day Sweepstakes for a chance to win some amazing prizes!

Mesa and Garfield counties are currently facing significant drought conditions during these warmer months, a stark reminder of the delicate balance of our natural resources.

The unusually low snowfall this past winter has directly impacted local ranchers like us who depend on snowpack melt for their water supply. This scarcity necessitates proactive measures, and we have been diligently working to strategically redirect available water resources to ensure we have what's needed during critical times.

This situation underscores the growing challenges posed by changing climate patterns and the importance of responsible water management in our region. This is why regenerative agriculture is so important. We will catch you next month for more HLR updates, happy April!

Warm Regards,

Ace Hartsock
