WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW ABOUT COVID-19
It is important that all COVID-related situations continue to be reported to campus principals or campus health coordinators, even during virtual learning. Quarantine timelines can span anywhere from 10 to 24 days or more, so even when a family experiences COVID over a brief virtual school period or holiday break, student quarantines do not necessarily end when school resumes. Please contact campus principals or campus health coordinators to report any of the following: 1)Students experiencing COVID symptoms; 2) Household members experiencing COVID symptoms.
COVID SCREENING GUIDE FOR PARENTS - Every morning, parents should utilize this daily screening tool from the Indiana State Department of Health to determine whether or not to send your child to school. *Please notice the clarification per the ISDH that states a close contact is defined by being within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes or more over a 24 hour period.
COVID LINE FOR REPORTING - We have a dedicated phone line at ECS for reporting a positive COVID case in your family. If an ECS student or immediate family member receives a positive COVID test result, we're asking that you call the following number: 812-470-5423. That phone will be monitored by a rolling member of our administrative staff who will instruct you on next steps.

REMINDERS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
CULLEN CAMPUS VIRTUAL UNTIL FEB. 4 - Due to a COVID-related staffing shortage at the Cullen Campus, 6th and 7th grade students are now virtual with students returning on-campus Thursday, February 4. Extracurriculars and athletics will still be active, as school is still in session in a virtual format.
EPWORTH CAMPUS VIRTUAL UNTIL FEB. 8 - Due to an uptick in COVID-related absences, 8th-12th grade students are now virtual with students returning on-campus Monday, February 8. Extracurriculars and athletics are also being paused during this timeframe. Students who are scheduled for ISTEP have received instructions from Mrs. Sims.
SUPER SUMMER DAY CAMP - This summer is setting up to be a whirlwind. With our current lease not being renewed at the East Campus (ending June 30), and our pending move into our new Elementary Campus, we have made the proactive decision to not hold our Super Summer Day Camp for 2021. With no location to host it and no ability to plan the activity-based format that has become known and loved (due to current COVID restrictions), our leadership team has determined that our most focused course of action for the future of our summer day camp is to launch it fresh in the summer of 2022, where it will have amazing home on our campuses at the corner of Epworth and Lincoln Avenue.

FINE ARTS
The ECHS Worship Team recorded their first student-led worship set this school year. Students have been developing servant-leadership skills in the areas of song selection, rehearsal leading, audio recording and mixing, filming and editing, and working as a collaborative team to seek out new creative elements for the worship experience. ECS parent and Worship Pastor, Jason Woolsey, has been coaching the team with help in audio recording/mixing from EUMC Pastor Danny Barr and ECS Parent, Brett Mulzer. We are excited to see student-led worship happening again and look forward to providing more opportunities in the future.
Recently, our Performing Arts faculty and volunteers spent time learning from Professional Sound Engineer, Frank Baird, who is an uncle to an ECS student. Frank has a long history in the music industry having worked with many headliners before settling into his role as a collegiate professor. Currently, he serves as Professor in the Recording Industry Department at Middle Tennessee State University.

Frank has offered his investment of time to equip and train our faculty which will in turn equip and train our students in the use of Digital Sound Production within the Performing Arts. We are grateful for this opportunity to learn from Frank and consider it an incredible blessing to connect with the experts he has provided to us. We are very excited to continue this relationship as we seek to develop our program and offer the IDOE Electronic Music Course in the future!
