From the Founder

The expectations and planning for our mission trips to Kenya are always exciting opportunities for me to try and imagine what will happen while we are here. (As I type this, we are still here in Kisii in our comfortable hotel, having a much-needed slow, relaxing rest day.)

I had no idea that on this trip, we would experience baptism in the creek-turned-river, an orphanage started by an orphan, another orphan who is finding support for other orphans, a couple who is charging their own daughter rent because they have burned all their other bridges…and, and, and.

So many stories of people in

desperate situations, some have taken the road of dishonesty, and others have taken the high road of loving one’s neighbor as oneself, and sharing the small and meager amount they have.

I am truly humbled and grateful that the LORD has called Dorcas Destiny International to these precious people. Every time we come to Kenya, I am more and more convinced that this work is necessary and valued not only by those here in Kenya, but also by those of you who partner with us to make sure children go to school and have at

least one meal; children get to have arts and crafts and play, scream, and run around; impoverished single parents have some burdens relieved; emergency health situations are mitigated; pastors are encouraged, and lives are stabilized.

Our newest opportunity to serve is Nazareen Orphan Center, and we have accepted the call! We first visited there last summer and then again in February 2025. Now knowing the history of Nazareen (an orphanage founded by 2 orphans who met in their school)

and more about how they operate, we are excited to adopt their 30 children (ages 2-15) as beneficiaries. As always, we will begin feeding them dinner and adding more support as time goes on.

We also have exciting plans for local field trips, retreats for the girls, and routine visits by our new medical team.

As always, I am appreciative of those who take the first step and reach out to see how they can help us at Dorcas Destiny International. I am even more grateful to those who take the next step and donate, sponsor, pray for us, or join us on our trip to Kenya! Every movement you make with us reinforces and strengthens what we can accomplish.

Blessings and hugs and so much love to YOU for being so generous and gracious to us and our families!

A Partnership Rooted in Love and Hope - Assistance for Nazareen Orphan Centre

At Dorcas Destiny International (DDI), we believe every child deserves a safe, loving, and dignified place to grow. That’s why we’re honored to partner with Nazareen Orphan Centre — a home to many precious lives.

Together, we will be working to upgrade living quarters and places for personal hygiene, stabilize the meal program, and make the environment more comfortable and welcoming.

This partnership is more than a project — it’s a heartfelt commitment to the well-being and future of these children.

A Joyful Mission in Kisii

Dorcas Destiny International (DDI) recently visited Hope for the Orphans Community Center in Kisii for a powerful and uplifting three-day conference filled with love, learning, and transformation.

Our Educational Enrichment Program team, our new friend in ministry, Ascorn Otieno, together with partners from the USA, spent meaningful time with the children and youth of the Hope community — engaging in creative activities like painting and crafting beautiful sunflowers from manila paper, each petal inscribed with the Fruits of the Holy Spirit, playing disc golf and more.

Laughter filled the air, hands were busy with color and creativity, and hearts were stirred with encouragement and God’s love.

The highlight of it all? Witnessing young adults publicly declare their faith through water baptism in a nearby river — a moving testament that God is at work, raising a generation rooted in faith and purpose.

We are deeply grateful for every moment and every soul touched during this visit. May the seeds planted continue to grow and flourish!

From our Social worker -- Hope in the Midst of Unrest

Life in Babadogo is already full of challenges. Many families live in small, crowded homes with little access to food, clean water, or medical care. Parents struggle to provide, and children grow up in difficult conditions: but still, they smile, play, and dream of a better future.

When protests break out in the streets, life becomes even more difficult for entire families. Roads are blocked, shops close, and fear fills the air. Loud noises, tear gas, running crowds, and violence can cause serious harm. Many families stay indoors, too afraid to leave. Children can no longer go to school or play safely. Parents miss work, and some households go to bed hungry as access to food becomes even harder.

During such times, we also see a rise in gender-based violence, home break-ins, and other dangers as criminals take advantage of the confusion. The fear and pressure weigh heavily on families already facing so much. In these moments, love, protection, and peace are needed more than ever. As Dorcas Destiny International, we are always present and on call. Being present while offering kindness in such a time is the most powerful gift of all.

We are already working closely with community leaders, parents, and neighbours to strengthen support systems and ensure families are better protected during times of unrest. Together, we are building resilience, helping households not just survive, but stand strong through hard times. Even when the streets are filled with trouble, we believe there is always hope. Dorcas Destiny International will continue to walk beside the people of Babadogo as friends, helpers, and a beacon of hope.

Siaya Well Project Update: Clean Water is Flowing — But There’s More Work to Do!

We’re thrilled to share that the borehole in Siaya was successfully drilled, and the water yield is promising! Initially, we aimed to install a solar-powered pump, but due to budget limitations, we implemented a manual hand pump to ensure the children could access clean water immediately.

While the hand pump is functional, it requires significant effort, especially for small children.

We are now seeking support to install a generator-powered pump and water tank, which will work in conjunction with the hand pump, making access much easier and more consistent.
