WCF and Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District Partnership: Urban Conservation Learning Lab continues to grow

Warren County Soil and Water Conservation District and the Warren County Foundation are partners to promote conservation best management practices with the Urban Conservation Learning Lab.

The learning lab is a hands-on public education space designated to showcase practical and affordable conservation solutions. The lab highlights simple practices that residents can adopt to improve stormwater quality, enhance soil health, and support thriving pollinator across Warren County.

“In 2023, Warren Co SWCD formed a budding partnership with The Warren County Foundation that has flourished into a joint commitment to the environment, community, and the creation of a space for all to enjoy! After helping to form the Environmental Forum, a fund that awards small grants to community members to install conservation practices at home, Warren Co SWCD decided that a space was needed to demonstrate various projects that would qualify for the grants and improve the local environment. The team decided to call the space the Urban Conservation Learning Lab, with the hope of demonstrating and teaching about various types of backyard conservation."

Honoring a Legacy

The Warren County Urban Conservation Learning Lab was recently dedicated with a special tribute to our late CEO, Tom Seddon. In recognition of his lasting impact on our community, a sundial was installed in his honor as a symbol of time well spent in service and leadership. Tom’s wife joined us for this meaningful moment, reminding us all of the legacy he leaves behind through his dedication to conservation, education, and Warren County’s future.
