Mushroom Share CSA

This week, the bags will be chestnut mushrooms.

Chestnut mushrooms are perfect for these Mushroom Turnovers (click here). These are great appetizers or as a main course served with some roasted veggies and rice!

Bread Share CSA - "Bakers Choice"

Provided by Deer Creek Bakehouse Nevada City

The Bakers Choice Bread Share is a year round, weekly delivery of Deer Creek Bakehouse's Country Sourdough or Whole Wheat Bread, with a rotating cast of inclusions. All loaves are hand made with 100% organic flours, much of which is locally milled.

This week's baker's choice loaf will be Polenta & Hatch Chilies.

Coffee Share CSA

Provided by Provided by Remedy Supply Company

We are thrilled to offer up our own signature coffee; the "Mountain Bounty Blend" as a Weekly or Bi-weekly CSA Subscription.

Remedy coffee is made with a focus on quality, by working directly with growers and producers, and small batch-roasting to bring out the natural flavors of the coffee bean. Their coffee is served at local Nevada City haunts such as Three Forks and Briar Patch.

Recipes, storage tips, inspiration and nutrition information:

Mountain Bounty Farm suggested CSA Box recipes:

Get seasonally fancy and make a soup that creates its own broth - Autumn Waterless Chicken Soup with Asian Pear, Kabocha & Jujube (click here). Curated for the CSA box by local Chef Alexis Filipello of Rasa Kitchen, this recipe is a cross section between ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine (and is a wonderful way to use this week's napa cabbage).

This Roasted Eggplant, Tomato and Halloumi dish (click here) is topped with a parsley and tahini dressing, using 3 of the veggies from your CSA this week! It is an excellent veggie centric dinner when served with quinoa, rice, pasta or crusty bread!

Egg Drop Soup with Napa Cabbage (click here) is a great and simple soup that is loaded with nutrients. Pouring whisked eggs into the hot soup and letting them set for a moment before slowly stirring them in creates ribbons of egg. Yum!

Whether you have broccoli (click here) or cauliflower (click here) in your box this week, roasting the florets at a high temperature with lots of space will yield a crispy texture that is restaurant good!

Cauliflower Pizza Crust (click here) is a great way to add a little fiber into your family's favorite meal! Top your pizzas with your tomatoes, eggplant and mushrooms (if you subscribe to the mushroom share) and enjoy!

"Feed the Fam" Baby/Kid/Pet friendly recipes - Phyllo dough is a super easy way to make a special treat - sweet or savory! Try out these Spinach Puffs (click here) and see if your kids devour them! You can use a little of your dil from last week too if you have some left over! Store your dill in a glass of water and it will surely be fresh a week later!

"USE IT UP" Weekly Recipe:

This Sheet Pan Veggie Soup (click here) is an awesome recipe for using up any veg you have from last week. Fennel, carrots, leeks, tomatoes... Toss them on a sheet pan to roast them and then blend them up! No need to use a pot!
