This summer, I had the privilege of attending the Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management program at Harvard Business School. This transformative experience equipped me with new strategies to strengthen our organization. I am excited to bring these insights back to Fun Time Early Childhood Academy as we embark upon another school year. Thank you to The Harvard Club of Naples for this amazing opportunity.

Our dedicated staff has been working tirelessly over the summer to ensure that our programs are set to provide the best possible education and care for our children. Their commitment to excellence and passion for our mission inspires me every day.

As we welcome our students back, I am confident this year will be one of growth, learning and success. Thank you to our board members, supporters and parents for your continued partnership and support in making Fun Time a place where every child can thrive.

With warm regards,

Jessica

First Day of School

On the first day of school at Fun Time Early Childhood Academy, our four centers embraced the start of the 2024-2025 school year with our unwavering commitment to providing top-notch early childhood education.

Starting school can be overwhelming for preschoolers, but not at Fun Time Academy! As we welcomed our children back, their faces lit up with excitement as they explored their new classrooms, met their wonderful teachers and made new friends. Students and parents alike felt the warm and inviting atmosphere of the school as they entered.

New Santa Barbara Mural

Artist Pamela Nolasco has just completed a vibrant mural on the back of our Fun Time Academy Santa Barbara building near the playground!

The kids absolutely love it, and it's already become a favorite spot for play and inspiration. We are so grateful for Pamela's beautiful contribution to our community, making our space even more colorful and welcoming for our little ones.

Professional Development Day

Our dedicated teachers gathered for a dynamic professional development day. We focused on enhancing our skills and strategies to provide the best possible education for our children.

We are committed to continuous improvement and lifelong learning to ensure our students thrive!

Thank you to all of our passionate educators for their dedication and enthusiasm. Together, we're shaping a brighter future.

The Healthy Earth Org Garden Revamp

Education grows at Fun Time Academy!

We appreciate our amazing partnership with The Healthy Earth Organization and Florida Gulf Coast University. Volunteers prepared our garden at our Downtown location for an upcoming year of fun and learning. The garden is a vital aspect of our early learning center and is loved by all!

The school year has just begun! This month, children will become familiar with their physical classrooms, teachers and classmates. They will develop an awareness of classroom rules and routines.

Children will also gain an understanding that belonging means being a member of a group. They will recognize ways to make new friends and start to comprehend that people in a classroom care for and help each other.

Lastly, children will begin to identify and understand the different emotions that people around them feel. This will build the foundation not only for the year but also for the start of their education.

Volunteer tutors enrich the individual classroom experience

Tutors are requested to meet the children one-on-one during the school day to support our ELLM (Early Literacy and Learning Model) program for the three- to five-year-olds. The volunteers work with our students to reinforce the literacy concepts learned in the classroom. Each volunteer visits the same child weekly from November through mid-April for 20 to 30 minutes per child. Volunteers often choose to have assignments of two to three children each time they visit. The volunteers read books to the children, and together, they engage in related math, literacy, science, and/or art activities to further the learning experience.

More fun ways to volunteer at Fun Time Academy

Additionally, we can always use help in our classrooms, conducting or repairing classroom equipment, photographing an event, etc. If you love children as much as we do, let's see if we can put your talents to work. We will work together to find a way to match your skills and interests with our many volunteer needs.

If you are interested in volunteering with us, please click the link below or call our volunteer coordinator, Melissa Oien, at 239-228-7363. We look forward to having you join our team and helping our mission to prepare children for kindergarten, ready to read and ready to learn!
