Emergency department...To go, or not to go

Nearly one in four Americans will visit an emergency department this year. Sometimes it’s obvious that a situation is an emergency, other times it’s not. Will it pass, or should you call your physician, visit an urgent care, or go directly to an emergency department? Presented by Patrick Tupa, D.O., emergency department physician at Firelands Health.

An ultrasound scan which screens for fatty plaque, the leading cause of strokes. 

• Peripheral arterial disease screening-$60

Screens for peripheral arterial disease in the lower extremities.

• Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening-$60

An ultrasound scan that screens for the existence of enlargements in the aorta that can lead to a ruptured aortic artery.
