Next month, Laser Days of Summer returns to the Hooper Planetarium! Join us the last two Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays in July for dazzling laser light shows set to some of your favorite music! From Pink Floyd to Queen to Taylor Swift to KPop, we have something for everyone. Before the lights go down, check out these frequently asked questions about our laser shows!
Are laser light shows “science”?
Absolutely! Laser shows combine music, technology, and science to create dazzling beams of light that dance across the planetarium dome. Every laser effect you see is powered by real science!
Why are the shows recommended for ages 8 and up?
Laser shows are a lot like concerts — dark rooms, loud music, bright lasers, and fog effects can be intense for younger kids. Parents know their children best, and younger guests are still welcome!
Why can’t I enter after the show starts?
For everyone’s safety. Once the show begins, the room becomes dark, loud, and foggy, making it unsafe to move around while lasers are active.
Should I come back if I’ve already seen a show?
Definitely! Shows are updated throughout the year with new laser effects and sometimes even new songs, so each visit can be a different experience.
