StateImpact Oklahoma looks at cities' flood readiness
|
As climate change continues to raise the stakes of severe flooding events, some Oklahoma communities are prepared to weather the storm, and some aren’t. Extreme flooding along the Arkansas River in northeast Oklahoma in May 2019 tested communities' readiness, and some didn't fare so well. In a two-part series airing today and tomorrow, StateImpact's Beth Wallis and OPMX's Graycen Wheeler looked at the patchwork of flood protections, and how some Oklahomans are still waiting for restoration three years later.
