LEARN

We’re proud to debut Salt & Oaks: Where Coast Meets Canopy, BHA’s new community newsletter. Filled with stories, photos, and updates, this publication celebrates the people, places, and natural beauty which make BHI special. Salt & Oaks now replaces the Island Report and is created with and for our Island community.

CULTURE

Relax, Unwind, and Connect with Dann and Gail Jackson

Dann and Gail Jackson, longtime island residents and owners of the Inn at Bald Head Island since 2017, have created a welcoming retreat known for its serene charm. Once a favorite of retirees, the Inn now attracts younger couples from across the Southeast. With their warm hospitality and deep ties to the island, the Jacksons make the Inn a special experience. BHI Life in Focus

Some of the photos in our first issue of Salt & Oaks came directly from Island property owners, and we’d love to keep that tradition going. Our goal is for all imagery to be community-provided, making both Salt & Oaks and Compass truly created by and for Bald Head Island. Do you have a favorite photo that captures Island life? Whether it’s a sunrise, wildlife, or a special moment with family and friends, send it our way, and your shot could be featured in an upcoming edition! Click here for tips on getting the best shots!

LIVE

Operation Reforest Is Back

Order live oaks, yaupon hollies, and wax myrtles for November planting. Orders close October 31. Click here to reserve yours today to grow Bald Head’s canopy. Since 2019, this program has replaced storm-lost trees, honored loved ones, and added to BHA Common Area. Explore past plantings on our website. Big thanks to the Resource Conservation & Beautification Committee and volunteers for keeping BHI green!

LEADERSHIP

Seeking Candidates for the BHA Board

Put your voice into action by serving on the BHA Board. Each year, two seats open for property owners ready to make a difference. It’s a meaningful way to support our community and guide the future of Bald Head Island. Interested? Reach out to Nominating Committee Chair Steve Smalley for details, or contact any Board member or Nominating Committee member.

The next Board meeting is September 26th at 8:30 a.m.
