MAKE A POSITIVE, LASTING IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY.
Tangipahoa Parish School System is calling on all Tangi businesses to join our mission of having every child in our parish read on level by the third grade. Currently, only 46.1% of the students in our parish are considered on-level for literacy. Each day, TPSS strives to increase that number.
As a Partner in Literacy, you have the opportunity to provide resources, support, and encouragement to the students in our parish, making a difference in their lives.
If you are a business owner in Tangipahoa Parish and are interested in becoming a Partner in Literacy, fill out the form below and a team member will contact you soon.

Sentence Building
Arranging words together to form a complete thought is a complex process for a growing mind. Have fun over the holidays by making a game out of reading.
Write a sentence on a sheet of paper. Use construction paper to make it even more eye catching. Cut the sentence apart into single words. Mix the words up and have your little one arrange the words to form a complete sentence.
Want to kick up the challenge?
Write a question mark, period, and exclamation mark on separate cards and have them correctly punctuate the sentence.

Home for the Holidays
Students will have their school-issued devices with them over Christmas Break. We encourage our students to work on school-related activities, programs, or assignments if needed. Students can use their devices to connect for our TPSS Bedtime Stories, or read online books by visiting TangiLibrary.com.
We recommend that when devices are not in use that they are stored in a safe place at home. Keep them high and dry. If going out of town, or over to visit friends and families, it is best to leave the devices behind. Devices become easily lost at airports, left in the vehicles of grandparents, or forgotten at a friend's house. We are asking our students to use their devices with care, and asking that our grownups help to make sure the devices are accounted for. Our optional insurance does not cover lost or stolen devices and cables.
Thank you! #OneTeamOnePurpose

Mental Health & Social Media
A LIVE ZOOM CALL
| |
|
This program provides parents/guardians with the skills they need to navigate the ever-changing digital landscape. The Redhead Method will challenge you to think critically about how and why we use social media. By introducing the concept of the "digital reputation", this live zoom call will help you (and ultimately, your family) understand that these accounts are tools, not toys.
Over the course of three sessions (two virtual, one in-person) we will discuss how to:
- facilitate healthy conversations about social media
- understand why/how relationships with technology greatly differ between age groups
- understand the concept of a #DigitalReputation
- achieve a more comprehensive understanding of the social media landscape and how
- accounts are seen/tracked
- and more!
Heads up! Several sensitive topics will be discussed during these sessions. *These sessions are for adults only.*
Our next session is coming up! Mark your calendar!
January 10, 2023
6pm - 7pm

Head to the Library!
Remember that our Tangi Library branches always have fun activities planned to keep your children engaged and immersed in reading. Holiday breaks away from school are the perfect opportunity to explore fun activities as a family.
Taking a trip to the new Kentwood Branch may be an excellent adventure for a "staycation" idea this winter break :)
