PSD School Ministries Connections | | A NOTE FROM SCHOOL MINISTRIES | | |
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:4-5
As Lutheran teachers and administrators, you stand at the entrance to your schools and classrooms each morning, welcoming the very "generations" this psalm speaks of. Some days, entering those gates feels exhilarating. On other days, you might feel completely poured out.
Notice where this psalm anchors our joy. It does not demand praise because our to-do list is complete or because every student is perfectly behaved. Our thanksgiving rests entirely on who God is: The Lord is good. His goodness is His unchanging nature. His steadfast love remains constant. Most beautifully for our ministry, His faithfulness endures to all generations.
The children in your classrooms and the families you lead are ultimately held by Him. You are simply the hands and feet pointing them to a faithful Savior. This is a beautiful privilege. Jesus be with you!

The documentary of Concordia University Irvine’s origin story features new interviews with Robert Holst and Martin Schramm from their last years among us, along with Shang Ik Moon, Dale Hartmann and Robert Dargatz. The film combines hundreds of original photos and documents from the campus archive, with firsthand accounts of the surprising story how Christ College Irvine opened and survived by the slimmest of margins, 50 years ago.
