Slowing down the calendar is like trying to put the brakes on a hot fish; it simply doesn't happen. We slid quietly into July this week, and it's about to get much noisier. The shop will be closed this Saturday for the 4th of July holiday, but once the smoke from all the Fireworks this weekend has dissipated, we'll be back in the shop on Tuesday to start planning our summer adventures. Be safe, and we'll see you soon!

Keith Burkhart is a long-time fixture in the Oregon fly-fishing community and was a co-founder of the NW Fly Tyer’s Expo in 1987. If you've ever attended his incredible event, you've probably run into Keith.

Besides being the driving force in the early days of the Federation of Fly Fishers, now the IFF, Keith is a very accomplished fly tyer and has a passion for sharing his skills with others. We are really excited to have Keith take a turn behind the Tyers' Table next month, and you don't want to miss it! Make plans to join us on July 11th from 10:30 to 1:00.

Kid's Fly Fishing Day

Join us on Saturday, July 18th, from 10:30 to 3:00 for Fly Fishing Fun!

Casting games, fly tying, hot dogs, Face Painting, and the world-famous "Bug Boat" return for Kid's Fly Fishing Day 2025. Load up the family Truckster with all the neighborhood youngsters and bring them down for a day of fun and fly fishing. We'll have staff and volunteers on hand to share the basics of the sport we all love. Start them early, and teach them to love the outdoors!
