Dear Friends,

It's been a while since we've given you all an update and first let us start off by saying that we hope that your Christmas was great, merry and full of praise and joy! And too, we want to wish you a Happy New Year!

These past couple of weeks have just been great here in the village! There for a while, the village had been really hurting for food. But there were those who were faithful to keep working in their gardens. To keep cleaning and to keep planting. And it paid off!

7 villages were invited to this conference where for the next few days, there would be teaching of God's Word, singing and eating. Pastor Timoteo encouraged the women to give to the Lord. He told them that for everyone to truly have a great time and for everyone to get their fill, that each woman should bring 26 cakes of the casabe bread that they make here, and what is their main diet. I have to confess that when I heard how much, I was like 'O my... I hope they aren't going to empty their gardens out again and then suffer for months to come!' But, was I wrong! The women took their huge stacks of casabe down to the Pastor's house, carrying them on their heads in their big flat baskets. And they were joyful! I asked one woman if she was able to afford being able to give that much and she looked at me with a big smile and said, "I'm giving it to the Lord!" The Lord blessed us and blessed us again! Not only 7 villages came, but we wound up with a total of 30 villages, or at least that is what the total was at the last count!

Faithie and I had been praying ahead of time, for months on end, praying that a revival would break forth and sweep through the village, and we believe that it did! People were saved, even little kids! They stood before the congregation, sobbing before the Lord and telling Him how much they needed to be saved and asked Him into their hearts, right there! Others went forward to rededicate their lives, having become lukewarm in their walk with Him... The last day was the Lord's supper and then baptism. We were so thrilled when some of our kids went forward and got saved and baptized as well! And you know what? The food didn't run out! The Lord always opened up a way for more to be gotten. And the people ate so good! Faith and I were laughing the other morning, as we were sitting in our outside kitchen, where we have our morning devotions. And watched one of the elderly women go by with her granddaughter. This woman has been very sick now for quite some time, and is one of those that we feed every day. But with the entire village being fed three times a day, her energy has built up, and she was actually walking faster than her granddaughter! This has truly been a very blessed time for everyone!

Thank you everyone for the many prayers you sent up for this time. Not only for the conference itself, but also for the missionaries. Mike and Andrew gave of themselves from sun up to way in the night! These times are always really busy, as there are so many to minister to. We ran out of medical supplies just a few days into it, because there were just so many. And all day long we had to keep telling them that there was no more to give! They are certain that if they keep coming and asking, that suddenly we will have more to give!

Now everyone has gone home. Pray for them. Here, they have been taught from God's Word every day they were here. But going back to their villages, there is no one to teach them. There are the Torches that the mission Outreach program has been sending out, and taking them to villages that don't come out very often. And what a marvelous blessing this has been to so many! But I think there is just something about coming together as a body, as a family, and getting in the Word and praising the Lord, that causes joy to overflow within us. And this is why, these yearly Bible conferences are so important!

Thank you again for praying!

Partnering with you,

Sharon and Faith
