Innovative Projects and Research Advancement with the Partnership

Congressional AI-Transportation Roundtable Conversations


The Partnership participated in a U.S. House Committee discussion on AI in transportation, highlighting their use of AI to create equitable transportation solutions. Their core principles include community-driven problem solving, democratizing access to technology and ensuring AI supports, not hinders, access to jobs and housing.

Local Communities Changing Lives through Innovative Research


Georgia communities are thriving thanks to the Partnership's Community Research Grants program. University researchers and local governments team up on year-long projects tackling issues like safe streets in Atlanta, clean water in Brunswick, solar energy career development in Milledgeville and healthier indoor air quality in Statesboro. In one year of engagement, these teams have already made major accomplishments in providing healthier environments for the current and future residents of their communities.

Innovation and Opportunity Scaling Across the Southeast


The Partnership's Economic Opportunity program fosters entrepreneurship and regional collaboration. Many of its Innovate for All grant winners are making major impacts in their surrounding communities, such as Mini City, the Georgia FLEX Program, Startup Runway Georgia and Small Bites Adventure Club. These projects model the power of collaboration to drive lasting change and economic growth across Georgia and beyond.

Georgia FLEX State Competition


The Georgia FLEX Program, our Economic Opportunity Grant winner, held its 2024 State Finals, showcasing months of dedication by nine outstanding high school teams from across Georgia. These entrepreneurs presented their businesses to a distinguished panel of judges, including Jamal Lewis, our Economic Opportunity manager. Congratulations to the finalists, including the top three winners!

Georgia AIM Sparks Innovation


The Georgia AI in Manufacturing (Georgia AIM) Community Engagement team held focus groups led by the Center for Economic Development Research (CEDR) at Georgia Tech. Stakeholders, including members of the Partnership, learned about the goals of the Georgia AIM grant as they prepare for the development and deployment of AI-focused pilot projects in Georgia.

Fort Valley State Makes History


The Fort Valley State University Fab Lab Ribbon Cutting Ceremony marked FVSU's entry into a global fabrication lab network, aimed at democratizing access to innovative tools. Notably, this event also established the first active Fab Lab on an HBCU campus!

Energy Research Unveiled


Dr. Omar Isaac Asensio, Assistant Professor in the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech collaborated on one of the Partnership's first projects. His newly published paper, examining the impact of federal initiatives on energy consumption in low- and moderate-income households, is now available in the magazine Nature Sustainability magazine!
