On the corner of a major thoroughfare in central Helsinki two national heroes clash. The first is an elevated bronze statue of a distinguished-looking general on horseback, staring nobly into the distance. Directly across from him, an enormous vinyl banner of a man’s muscled back and pert ass ripples softly in the wind.
Tom of Finland’s iconic artwork is instantly recognizable to many of his fans. However, peer closer at these images and you’ll quickly realize that rather than muscle-bound hunks, they feature dogs and cats!
After stints at the Venice biennale and Paris, The AllTogether Clubhouse has touched down in New York City just in time for Pride weekend. The opening of the art gallery space was toasted Thursday evening with a party hosted by Glenn Martens of Diesel and Durk Dehner of Tom of Finland Foundation at the Clubhouse.

“The idea of place and home has always been a central part of my artwork. To me, home isn’t really so much a physical place; it is a feeling of belonging. A wolf pack. A tribe. A posse.”
