What's happening this week:

Summer is gone. The calendar says so and so do the temperatures but it seems like most people were ready for the change in weather/cooking ideas at this point. What that means for our counters is the return of some more cold weather items (i.e. stuffed pork cutlets) and the disappearing of some of the strictly grilling items (i.e. kabobs), but don't worry. We have PLENTY to choose from weather you're still grilling or turning that oven on for the first time since April.

We have gone full on grill mode in Western Springs this week so make sure to stock up before the weather really turns cold!

We have another repeat this week in the meat sales. The New York Strip Steaks will be the beginning of our sales this week and along with the regular strips we will have our Bourbon Marinated Strips on sale as well!

For this week we will be doing our kabobs for the last time in Western Springs for this season and what better way to send them off til next year by putting them on sale?!!? We will have the Beef and the Chicken all ready to go for you this weekend but don't wait too long, they may not make it all the way to the end of the sale before we run out!!

As mentioned above, we are seeing a bit of a shift in buying these days since the weather has shifted but we still know some of you grill year round so we have a deal for you!! Our New York Strip Steaks are on sale this week and those would be perfect to have on the grill this week!

Along with the regular Strip Steaks we will also have our NEW Yakiniku Marinated Strips. This pear/pineapple marinade is like a mix of a soy sauce and a BBQ sauce and I promise you will absolutely love it!!

Ok, sometimes people are in the right place at the right time. Last week our friend Wendy was in and suggested the Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts be our sale item this week, and now it is. Thank you Wendy for making our decision easier!!

If you are bored with lunch these days why not have something a little different? Our Homemade Regular Tuna Salad is so good on it's own but when you make it into a tuna melt, its even better!! I was going to link a few recipes but since we did all of the work already by making the tuna salad all you need to do is to make a tuna sandwich with some cheese and then cook it like you would a grilled cheese! That's it and VOILA, you have a WONDERFUL tuna melt meal!

As the school year rolls along things get a little hectic. We all know that and one of the worst things is trying to figure out where the kids need to be picked up from, who will be around for dinner and when will it happen. Well, this week we will have our Homemade Sloppy Joe on sale so you don't have to worry. If Kid#1 will be home for a quick dinner early and then will be off to practice at one time and Kid#2 won't be home to eat until late, you have a quick meal that can be popped into the microwave for a short reheat and dinner is ready! For those of you who have more than 2 kids, I can't help you. I didn't really help that much with my 2 and more than that I am even less help.
