May is Mental Health Awareness Month

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to bring awareness about the warning signs of mental illness and to shine a light on resources available to help ourselves and those around us.

FSG is proud to be a trusted source of support in our community, through compassionate counseling, referrals, support groups, and other resources. Mental health is essential for overall well-being at every stage of life. Regardless of age, background, or experience, prioritizing mental health strengthens individuals, families, and communities. This year's Mental Health Awareness Month theme is, "In every story, there is strength." FSG works daily to strengthen our community, one person at a time. We invite you to watch this short video illustrating the warning signs of mental illness and encourage you to call FSG today at 847-835-5111 and avail yourself or loved ones of our services.

Farewell to Jadyn Denlow, FSG's Clinical Intern

On May 27th, FSG will bid a very fond farewell to our clinical intern, Jadyn Denlow, as she concludes her first year of studies at the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice at the University of Chicago. We are grateful for her contributions to FSG this year, including time spent shadowing clinicians, observing Vibrant Living Senior Discussion Groups, and helping with the administration of our programs.

Jadyn’s thoughtful presence, dedication, and eagerness to learn made a lasting impression on our team. We deeply appreciate all she brought to FSG and know she will be greatly missed.

FSG Board Members Attend HPCF’s 2nd Annual Cocktails and Conversation

FSG Board Members Samantha Aronow and Dave Barta were proud to attend the Highland Park Community Foundation’s 2nd Annual Cocktails and Conversation on Thursday, May 8th. The event brought together members of HPCF’s Governing, Advisory, and Associate Leadership Boards for an evening of celebration and community.

As a valued funder of Family Service of Glencoe, HPCF plays a vital role in supporting our mission to strengthen lives and communities through counseling, crisis response, and outreach. This special gathering honored the 2024 Grant Recipients - organizations like FSG - that are working every day to make a difference and recognized the generous individuals and board members who make HPCF’s grants possible.

We are grateful for HPCF’s continued partnership and support, and we were thrilled to join in celebrating the impact we’re making together.

Glencoe Under the Stars

Thank you to all who joined us on Friday, May 2nd at Glencoe Under the Stars in support of Family Service of Glencoe! The love and support was palpable, and the sense of community was felt long after the last paddle was raised and the last song ended.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for our community's generosity. With your help, we raised over $350,000 in support of FSG, ensuring that everyone in our community has access to our mental health and social services, regardless of ability to pay. This achievement would not be possible without the support of our many auction donors, sponsors, and community friends, and we are deeply grateful.

We know all too well that without continued support, these vital programs can't exist, and we are already looking forward to the next time we can gather. Please mark your calendars for our Tee Up for FSG Golf Outing on Friday, September 5th at Winnetka Golf Club. Follow our social media for more information this summer.

We look forward to seeing you at another FSG event soon, and we are most grateful for your support!

You can make an impact in your community today!

If you prioritize affordable and accessible mental health and social services for everyone in your community, then we deeply appreciate your support.
