Welcome Adam Crumbliss

The Great Rivers Council is excited to announce and welcome Adam Crumbliss to the team as our Director of Development, providing leadership to our fundraising efforts—including annual giving, capital campaigns, and endowment growth—to ensure the long-term strength and impact of Scouting across the council.

Adam is no stranger to the values of helping others, being trustworthy, loyal, and kind. Born to an Eagle Scout, he began his own Scouting journey as a Tiger Cub and continued through WEBELOS before pursuing other interests such as band, debate, and volunteerism. After graduating from Joplin High School, he earned a degree in public administration from Missouri State University and began a nearly 25-year career in public service following an internship at the Missouri State Capitol.

During his tenure in Jefferson City, Adam served as a budget and policy staffer before being elected Chief Clerk and Administrator of the Missouri House of Representatives. After 18 years in the legislature, he transitioned to the executive branch as Chief Division Director for the Department of Health and Senior Services and later led the Division of Community and Public Health through the COVID-19 pandemic. He concluded his state service as Deputy Director at the Department of Social Services. Adam also holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Missouri.

Adam most recently served in the nonprofit sector as Chief Development and Communications Officer for the Heart of Missouri United Way, where he led fundraising initiatives, including the annual workplace giving and pacesetter campaigns. The campaign raises over $3 million to support nonprofit partners.

He is also a familiar face in Scouting—currently serving as Pack 2 Committee Chair, Boonslick District Day Camp Program Director, and Wood Badge Troop Guide. Adam is also active in the Downtown Optimist Club, where he serves on the board.

Adam and his wife, Angie, are the proud parents of two daughters. Emily is active in her church youth group, plays softball for Rock Bridge High School, competes in youth lacrosse, travels internationally, engages in public policy, and holds a job alongside her academic studies. Caroline participates in youth choir, church, soccer, gymnastics, piano, cheer, the Mid-Missouri Soap Box Derby, and recently joined Troop 706 in Columbia.

Please join us in welcoming Adam Crumbliss to the Scouting family in the Great Rivers Council! He will officially begin his role on July 21.
