Welcome to our July email newsletter.

This month we want to highlight the importance of looking after your renewable energy equipment. If you are going to take the time to invest in what can be a costly initial outlay, to ensure all systems operate efficiently a suitable service and maintenance programme should be adopted.

Not sure where to start? At Carter Electrical Installation, we don't just install, we provide in-depth servicing and maintenance options for your renewable energy equipment, as well as advice for maintenance you can carry out yourself. Have a read of our November 2023 blog, which details the type of maintenance your solar panels require, what can be routinely done by you as the homeowner, and when it is time to call in the pros (us!).

And it's not just solar panels that need TLC from time to time, ASHPs and solar batteries do as well! There's plenty with ASHPs you can do yourself: debris removal from external units, coil cleaning and pipe inspections, but it's best to book in an annual professional service to check the fluid levels, flow rates and electrical connections. Solar storage batteries can also benefit from an annual service, where a qualified technician can identify and address potential issues that might not be apparent during routine checks.

Treat your renewable energy equipment like you would your car - an annual service at the minimum should be booked in to ensure you are getting the most out of your investment, and to keep it in mint condition for as long as possible. While we are on site, why not get your fixed wiring checked too for added peace of mind?

Check out our shiny new Carter Renewables website for more information about the servicing an maintenance options we offer. Our service and maintenance team have broad experience working within the renewables energy sector; they're on hand to support you, our clients, to keep your systems operating at their best!

Product of the Month

Milwaukee Tools

M18™ FORCE LOGIC™ Hydraulic Knockout Punch

Our July product of the month is Milwaukee Tools M18™ Force Logic™ Hydraulic Knockout Punch; the most compact and lightweight tool on the market with 60kN of force.

Its brushless motor, REDLITHIUM™ battery pack and REDLITHIUM™ electronic deliver power, run time and durability, and over 120 punches per battery charge! Due to the balance of the tool, it can easily be controlled by one hand, all the while delivering the highest accuracy due to the having the industry's finest exact alignment system for dies.

Our very own Martin Chandler gave this review and provided the below photos from recent jobs:

When paired with the Starrett Smooth Cut hole saws for the pilot, it drastically limits the risk of catching or snagging any existing cables. It also leaves a lovely, burr free hole so less time needed filing and finishing any holes cut through metal. It will comfortably punch holes up to 100mm in 3mm mild steel or 2.5mm stainless steel so will handle basically anything we would typically throw at it, and is perfect for any site work as it punches through cold, so no risk of fire from residual heat or sparks. It doesn’t come cheap, so is a luxury tool to have, however it soon pays for itself!
