STEWARDSHIP SEASON
Fr. Roy kicked off our Stewardship Season with a sermon focused on Honoring the Past, Rejoicing in the Present & Embracing the Future. Today, vestry member Kristi Burch will share a testimony written by her mother, Pat Merrell. And next Sunday will be Chrissy Oppegaard’s turn to share. These messages are meant not only to inspire you to give of your time, talent and treasure but also to be spiritually enriched.
Thankful Sunday, November 22, will be the peak of the season where we will thank God for all He has given and done for us, our church, our community and our world. We will show our gratitude in part by placing our pledge cards in the offering basket and asking him to bless them to be used to the glory of His name.
A letter from our Sr Warden, Rick Stall, was recently mailed. The mailing also includes a pledge card and information on other ways to pledge. Prayerfully consider how you can give of yourself and your generosity to Messiah. Commit with a pledge card and your vestry will thank you as this will allow them to be faithful stewards of the church resources as they plan both short- and long-term goals.
Honoring the Past
Rejoicing in the Present
Embracing the Future

Hello!
As Parish Secretary, my primary focus is on three areas:
· Communications – including the e-newsletter, Sunday’s bulletin, social media, and our website.
· Supporting our Vicar, Roy Tripp.
· Membership – transferring memberships, reaching out to visitors and the like.
Contact me (email or 843.999.0888) with any questions or assistance you may have in these areas. If you have any questions or concerns that don’t fall within the areas above, reach out to me and I’ll put you in contact with the person who can best help.
I do ask for your assistance with content for communications. Your input is invaluable.
· Let me know about any events or projects you may be coordinating.
· Take photos of any events or projects that would be good to include in communications; send photos to the office.
· Suggest any improvements or corrections.
· Suggest any ideas for social media content.
My office hours are typically Tuesdays 8:00 to noon and Wednesdays & Thursdays 8:00 to 4:00. Please know that I may be out of the office for short periods of time for church errands or lunch break; and on occasion it is necessary to switch days or take time off. If you need to meet with me for more than a few minutes, I recommend an appointment as my work does include meetings and deadlines. When I am the only one in the office, I keep the door to the building locked and the door to the Church Center unlocked. Call the office number, 843.999.0888, and I will let you in the building.
Together In Christ,
Patty Tate

Dear Reader:
The Rev. Roy Tripp is now Vicar of Messiah Episcopal Church. I am writing with deep gratitude and genuine excitement as I introduce myself as your new Vicar. I am honored to have accepted the call to serve the Church of the Messiah, and I look forward to beginning this shared ministry together.
What makes this call especially meaningful to me is the opportunity not only to serve this parish, but for my wife, Liz Devoir and I to live among you here in Myrtle Beach. I will be the first of your vicars to reside in the community, and I believe deeply that ministry is strongest when the church is rooted in the everyday life of its people—present, visible, and engaged.
I come to you with a deep love for parish ministry: worship that is reverent and alive, pastoral care that is personal and faithful, and a church that knows its neighbors by name. Alongside this, I bring an entrepreneurial approach to spirituality—one that is creative, adaptive, and attentive to how the Holy Spirit is already at work beyond our walls. In a storefront setting especially, I see opportunity: to experiment, to listen closely, and to grow organically as a community shaped by prayer, hospitality, and mission.
My hope is that the Church of the Messiah will continue to be a place where tradition and imagination meet—where ancient faith speaks clearly to present lives, and where all are welcomed to encounter Christ with honesty and hope.
I am eager to meet you, to hear your stories, and to begin discerning together what God is calling us to be and to do in this season. Please know of my prayers as we prepare for this new chapter, and I ask for yours as well.
With gratitude and anticipation,
The Rev. Roy Tripp
