Learn With League

Amanda Dickens has been the Director of Elections/Election Coordinator for Pulaski County since June 2022. Before that she held the position of Assistant Election Coordinator for about a year and Elections Systems Analyst for 11 years. Prior to working in the Election Commission office, she worked for the Pulaski County Clerk’s office in the Voter Registration Department. She has worked every Presidential election since Bush/Gore in 2000. Her passion has always been elections and making sure that every eligible voter gets to exercise their right to vote.

Naturalization Ceremony

We have another Naturalization Ceremony coming up on September 15th. Did you know that Naturalization Ceremonies are open to the public? And, did you know that Pulaski County's naturalization Ceremonies feature a live choir singing the national anthem. Did you also know that we registered 14 new citizens to vote at the last ceremony. If you have the opportunity to join us, we are certain you won't regret it.

Pulaski-Tech &

Philander Smith

We are also looking forward to our voter registration drives at UA Pulaski Tech in North Little Rock and Philander Smith University in Little Rock on September 15th. Join this shining moment for Democracy and represent League at one of the drives. Help us show the youth what excitement for civic participation looks like and celebrate Voter Registration Day with us!

Click on the teal links above to register and join us.

PS. If the slots fill up, you can still email lwvpc@lwvpc.org to register to join us!

League to Cohost Wards 2 & 7 Candidates' Forum

LWVPC will be moderating and co-hosting a Candidates' Forum for Little Rock Board of Directors candidates seeking to fill the positions for Wards 2 and 7. We encourage our members to come out and invite colleagues, friends, and neighbors from Little Rock and Wards 2 and 7 for what will be an engaging evening with the individuals seeking to work for the people of the city and represent the community.

Below depicts the current Wards for the City of Little Rock based on the 2020 Census.

Health & Wellness Expo

We are also extending our civic service at the upcoming Health & Wellness Expo. This is a great opportunity for us to do voter registration and also engage with the community about the work we do at League.

Observer Corps Hot Topics

If you are interested in being in the know, in promoting good governance in your community, and in becoming better acquainted with local issues and elected officials, consider joining the LWVPC Observer Corps. You can join by contacting one of the co-chairs of the Observer Corps, Susan Bell Leon (sbleon22@gmail.com). There are numerous local governmental bodies that could benefit from your involvement. It is clear that governmental boards and commissions take more care with their processes and relationships when they know that members of a nonpartisan organization like the League of Women Voters are paying attention to them.

Membership News

Last month, LWVPC partnered with other local organizations for League's August 8th Day of Action. We hosted a community resource fair in Southwest Little Rock featuring the city's Mobile Market, voting resources, fresh produce, and a catered meal. We heard from speakers from the partner organizations and had a wonderful time engaging with members of the community.

Celebrating Our Members!
