Dear Linda,

As we enter CRT’s 25th anniversary year, we are thinking about all the amazing people who have brought CRT to where it is today.

Our first ever CRT Gala was held in February 2005 and used the Heroes of Our Hearts theme to reflect the resiliency and courage of our clients and strong commitment of our supporters.

As a part of the CRT community, YOU are counted among the Heroes of Our Hearts. We are so grateful for you!

With strong support from our donors, here is some of the impact CRT has had on children and families in 2022:

Our growing staff of clinical providers and new community partners means we are increasing accessibility of behavioral and mental health services for Black and brown children living in Chicago communities with high needs and scarcity of services.

CRT’s therapy staff has grown to 14 full-time therapists, a 27% increase over last year. We currently provide mental health services to more than 700 children annually through community and school-based partners, teletherapy, in-home visits, and CRT’s Loop clinic.

Camp SOAR welcomed 81 campers and 96 counselors back for the best week of the summer!

We are grateful for friends like the Meagher Family, who dedicated their Annual Charity Walk around Lake Geneva to raising funds for Camp SOAR. Donations help CRT bridge the gap between the $500 tuition paid by families and the $1,300 actual cost of Camp SOAR per camper.

A new grant from the Cook County Justice Advisory Council for Gun Violence Prevention and Reduction is funding expanded CRT mental health services in 10 schools on Chicago’s South and West sides and South Suburbs.

CRT has expanded our mental health services to veteran and military families thanks to a grant from the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which is dedicated to ensuring that impacted veterans, service members, their families, and their caregivers thrive long after they return home.

We invite you to read our 2022 Impact Report, which outlines the way our donors have impacted the lives of hundreds of children and families through our mental health services and Camp SOAR.

Because of you, we have entered our 25th anniversary year with the greatest impact and reach in CRT's history. We hope to celebrate these accomplishments with you at the 2023 Heroes of Our Hearts Gala on Saturday, November 4!

Sincerely,

Linda Schwartz, Ph.D.
